We hope you are having a great week!  This is a busy busy time for us!  I just got a job with Murfreesboro Medical Clinic in the Pediatrics Dept.  While this is really exciting, i'm still searching for someone to care for Connor during the day!  (did i mention that this isn't really going too well?)  it seems like everyone is full or way out of my budget.

please keep us in your prayers as we are hitting these obstacles!  i know it will all work out in good time...though, it is frustrating to not know where Connor will be when i start work!!

This past weekend, our cousin Johnnie came into town from Fort Worth.  She was here Friday, Saturday & Sunday.  We went to Miller's Grocery, Bell Buckle Cafe & visited my brother at Demos'.  and while all it felt like we did was drive & eat, it was really fun.  it was so great to see someone we only get to see about once a year!  here are some pictures from the weekend :)

Growing and Growing!

Today we had to head to the doctor for a last minute visit. Connor has been having some eye goo.  And really, thats what it is.  There are really no other words to describe it, just nasty-ness in his left eye.  Monday i called the Nurse & she told me to massage it 3 times a day for a few minutes and if it didn't get better in a few days call.  Well, its not better, and we went to the doctor.  

Dr. Collins is one of those awesome doctors who takes advantage of drug reps and gave us the medicine connor would need!  i love doctors like that!

When Connor's nurse weighed him, he was 16.2 pounds!  That means he has gained 1 pound in just 18 days!!!  Next thing we know, he's going to be as big as Hank!  (no offense Hank, we think you are absolutely adorable & when i see you, i'm going to kiss and hug on you, until you wriggle away :)

going green - in more ways than one

It has taken me a while to get the computer, camera & camera cord in the same place all at once - but i finally have!  

After a week of baby cereal, C was eating 4 tbls in about 10 minutes, so i thought it was time to move up to the real stuff (real as in Gerber...not as in me pureeing steamed veggies).

I had read somewhere that you should start with the least sweet veggie and work your way to the sweets.  and since Green Beans were the only jar without the word "sweet" in the description, i thought i'd start with those.

I was very impressed that there was no "what is this?!" face.  actually, he really enjoyed his green beans...and we really did (not) enjoy the green that came out the other end.  now, i realize that i am not a seasoned mother, so i never thought about the repercussions of green baby food - now i know.

Tonight, we just began Sweet Peas!

I am a HUGE Top Chef Chicago fan.  While perusing BravoTV.com i found that one of my favorites -Richard Blais- recently welcomed his first child on May 29!  Congratulations to Richard and Jazmin!

Connor recently had his first swim of the summer!  His floaty is a little big being that he can't actually sit up by himself, but we still had a grand time even though the pictures don't look like it.

First: Baby Rice Cereal

So, i've had the Baby Cereal in the pantry for at least a month, just waiting for Connor to turn 4 months old.  Could i have fed him at 3 months?  Probably so.  But, i had a few questions to ask the doctor, so i waited.  Well, today was our appointment with Dr. Collins (i would have take pictures, but the battery went dead) and i got my questions answered

After our yummy dinner, it was definitely time for a bath....no bath shots tonight, but i did manage to grab some towel time :)

We had a big day!  We walked about 3 miles to get the our doctor's appointment (parking was murder), got 3 shots, visited our friends at MidSouth Bank, surprised elizabeth at Penn Station, hung out with Aunt Sarah, & finally got to sleep...and well, you can imagine the rest.

4 months already?!

I absolutely cannot believe Connor is 4 months old.  He is getting so big & you can tell he wants to be so independent!  Some days, i really miss my little baby who would fall asleep in my arms at the drop of a hat, but now, Connor must go to sleep in his bed (or he won't ever go to sleep at all).  But, last night i got a little present from him!  After about 3 hours of being asleep he started crying - so, i went to see if he was ok.  As i picked him up, he immediately stopped crying and fell asleep on my shoulder.  I just couldn't put him down!  I had a very difficult pregnancy, and while i never doubted my love for him, i did not feel that "bond" people talk about.  Even when the doctor gave him to me right after delivery i had no idea what to do with this baby.  i didn't even know him & i certainly had no idea why God had trusted me with this person.  But now, i don't know what i would do without him - we are great friends, and i pray we are friends forever.
